Members and Guests joined the Provincial Grand Master of Mark Master Masons, Grand Officers and Officers of the Provincial Grand Lodge Of MMM of Worcestershire on Monday 5th October to celebrate the Sixtieth Year Anniversary. The celebration was marked by the presentation of a framed picture of Bro Walter Joseph Craven. Walter, and his son Rex, were founder members of the Lodge, Walter a renowned local Historian and Artist, designed a Badge based on the Crest of St Egwin 3rd Bishop of Worcester, founder of Evesham Abbey.
The WM presented the picture to the Chairman of the Masonic Hall Company who mentioned in his response, that the picture will be hung in close proximity to the many beautiful water colours of Evesham scenes, painted by Walter Craven, which grace our dining room. A candidate was then advanced a member of Mark Masonry in general and a member of St Egwin Lodge No 1135 in particular. The Provincial Grand Master then presented a Grand Lodge Certificate to a recent advancee. After closing the lodge members and guests enjoyed a meal of Baked Camembert with Gooseberry jelly served on a salad base. Braised Lamb Shanks in rich Mint Gravy with Creamy Mashed Potato Cauliflower and Broccoli, all followed by Apple Tart and Custard or Cheese and Biscuits, Coffee and Chocolate Mints.
The rest of the evening was spent in love and harmony. Members and Guests received a little booklet depicting brief recollections and extracts from the first minute book, covering the first twenty years of the lodge.
